Who We are
Skipton and Craven Action for Disability or SCAD was formed in 1981 by Marjorie Charlesworth and a group of likeminded individuals who celebrated the International Year of the Disabled by creating the charity which now provides over 15,000 journeys each year to those with mobility problems.
The organisation has grown over the last 40 years, most recently under the leadership of Board Chairman Richard Clarke alongside CEO Stephanie Wheelhouse (since July 2017).
Trustees / Directors
SCAD is a charitable company, registered with the Charity Commission of England (number 1092511) and with Companies House (No 4210523). Trustees of the charity are also, therefore, Directors of a Company Limited by Guarantee and the charity works within the two systems of legislation and governance.
